my w.i.p. problem

Just like most crafters I generally have a few projects on-going at any given time, in the case of Jolene it’s more like a few dozen but that’s her problem, not mine!

No, I’m generally pretty good at finishing what I begin before moving on to the next thing and as a rule I don’t start more than I can finish, what I do find though is that ‘real life’ has a habit of intruding from time-to-time, you know the sorts of things, eating, sleeping, home maintenance, kids, and other dull and allegedly necessary irritations.  Anyway, there are times when these things all intrude at once and I’ll end up setting something aside while I deal with the realities of life and occasionally I never quite get around to picking them up again.

And so it is with this retro zombie dude, with his under-sized flares and disco coat.  In my head he’s an undead version of Saturday Night Fever replete in his soiled white suit with tarnished studding and an attitude to match, and as much as I’d love to finish him off he’s already taken pride of place on the shelf and I’m torn between Jolene telling me she likes him as he is, me being terrified of ruining him with a ham-fisted finish and a desire to actually see him finished.

I have a few WIP’s that need finishing and the usual mix of half formed idea, impulses, and general crafting desires whirling around in my head which, to be honest, are unlikely to be ever be done despite the best intentions that a new year brings.

Yet, the Zombie dude resides there, on the top shelf, reaching out to me with that grasping hand and here I am scared to death of actually doing anything to him …  given that, perhaps he is finished after-all?!

Thank-you, I’m glad you think he’s fabulous! But how much more fabulous would he look with a medallion and a once-upon-a-time-pristine white suit on?!!
